You can take part in Time-based Competition Quests from the Arena Quest Counter located in the Grand Hub. 
At the Arena Quest Counter, you can take on various Time-based Competition Quests or join quests that other players have posted. 
After accepting the quest and embarking, you will be relocated to the specified environment. Once the main target has been hunted, you will be returned to your previous environment.

In these quests, players compete to defeat the target monster as fast as possible using a pre-determined set of equipment. 
Before starting, you can adjust your equipment and prepare for the hunt. 
Up to two players can participate, with Support Hunters also available to assist.

These are quests that become available for a limited time.

Each Time-based Competition Quest has its own menu and different conditions for participation.

When you complete Time-based Competition Quests while connected to the internet, your best time will be recorded in the rankings. 
In addition to worldwide rankings, you can also view the records of your Hunter Friends and Squad Members.

The protagonist and the character you play as. A hunter assigned to the Forbidden Lands Research Commission, their job is to help investigate this unexplored region.

Two iconic jobs from FINAL FANTASY XIV Online join the hunt! The Dark Knight, masters of the two-handed blade and dark arts, and the Pictomancer, masters of the arcane who can bring paintings to life, enter the world of Monster Hunter Wilds.


Equipping the Bale Armor α set will grant the set bonus skill, "Soul of the Dark Knight." Activating this skill allows you to use the special action, "The Blackest Night."
The Blackest Night ability can be activated from the item bar. Doing so will consume the player's health to generate a powerful barrier.
The great sword known as "Shadowbringer" has its own unique weapon skill.


Using the "Soul of the Pictomancer," you can cast pictomancy spells such as "Pom Motif."
You can cast these spells from the item bar.
Combine the drawn motifs to unleash a powerful pictomancy spell known as "Mog of Ages."

Face off against an even stronger 
Omega Planetes and obtain new rewards!

Prepare for a relentless onslaught of powerful attacks. When Omega Planetes activates "Pantokrator Mode," it becomes incredibly dangerous and aggressive.


Fire is effective against Nerscylla, and thunder is effective against Omega Planetes. Bringing weapons with both elements will be key in this quest.


Repeatedly attacking its head will get it to focus on a single hunter who can direct its attacks. 
A red line indicates that you have successfully drawn the target's enmity.

Fulfilling certain conditions like destroying head wounds or taking out the glowing Omega Micros will generate a shield that can protect you from beam and missile attacks.
 
Destroy one of Omega Planetes' legs, and you'll be able to obtain a Shield Generator. This can only be obtained by one person per leg, but it will allow you to create a defensive shield at any chosen location.

Multiplayer for Monster Hunter Wilds

CROSS-PLAY

Starting with Ver. 1.021, Tempered Monsters (9★) of nine monster species will begin appearing in locales. 
Following that, our third title update in late September will see additional 9★ monsters appear in event quests.

For veteran players who have experienced end-game content in previous Monster Hunter titles, we understand that the difficulty of Tempered Monsters at launch may have felt lacking. Therefore, starting with Title Update 2, we've introduced a system for more detailed monster parameter customization, as well as other adjustments to ensure a challenging and rewarding experience.

Upon quest completion, the Glowing Stone appraisal item—a quest reward for quests with 9★ monsters—will transform into an Appraised Talisman with randomly assigned skills. 
Unlike other talismans which can be crafted and upgraded at the Smithy, Appraised Talismans cannot be upgraded. However, they can be randomly granted not only armor skills but weapon skills and decoration slots (both weapon skill and armor skill decoration slots), allowing for more customization and experimentation with builds. We hope this leads to more engaging gameplay and encourages hunters to try different weapons and armor based on the talismans they obtain.

Additionally, we recognized that end-game content early after the game's release was slightly skewed around Arkveld. This, combined with the fact that Arkveld is relatively resistant to elements, resulted in limited opportunities to try out diverse builds. In response, we have adjusted the difficulty, average hunting time, and rewards for each of the 9★ monsters being added in an effort to ensure that all monsters offer balanced rewards fitting with the effort spent hunting them. We encourage you to select your hunts based on your own individual skill, equipment, or needs, and enjoy each challenge.

In light of the addition of 9★ monsters, we've lengthened the duration of meal effects so that they're less likely to expire if the hunts go on a little long. We also raised the upgrade limit for armor of rarity 5 or above, so that players can squeeze in a little more defense before they go up against these challenging new monsters.

Additionally, from HR 100 and higher, Rey Dau and Nu Udra will now appear in the Wounded Hollow, and each region's apex predator will be more likely to appear even with that region is not experiencing an inclemency.

As mentioned previously, Title Update 3 will see the gradual introduction of 9★ monsters in Event Quests as well. 
We are also adjusting the strength of support hunters in line with the addition of 9★ monsters. We apologize that the timing of these adjustments are in stages and come after the implementation of the monsters themselves, but we hope you understand that this is a result of expediting the monster implementation.

In order to diversify the lineup of quests, we are working to make it possible for Lagiacrus to appear in the Wounded Hollow, as well as other additions such as more hunts targeting packs of monsters. We are also implementing adjustments to improve gameplay convenience, such as preventing monsters from spontaneously destroying pop-up camps and resetting the cooldown for mantles upon beginning a quest.

Finally, we can also assure you that any new monsters added in Title Update 3 will also feature 9★ difficulty quests.

We hope you look forward to the new contents for Title Update 3, and that in the meantime you can enjoy the new additions from Ver. 1.021 to strengthen your equipment and collect Appraised Talismans in preparation for the challenging hunts ahead.

Originally planned for implementation in the third title update scheduled for the end of September, we've moved up the implementation of expanded end-game content to the Ver. 1.021 update.

We will be adding a new set of high-difficulty quests, and as rewards for completing them, you can obtain talismans with randomly assigned bonuses, including weapon skills.

In previous updates, we aimed for greater diversity in hunting styles and equipment builds, including equipment with elemental properties. We performed balance adjustments, including some downward adjustments, to ensure no single strategy was overly effective against monsters introduced later on. However, this resulted in some hunting styles becoming less viable and certain weapon types experiencing lower-than-intended viability. 
We apologize for the results and that we did not communicate our balancing intentions clearly enough.

This update will mitigate the excessive downward adjustments made in Title Update 2, and will focus on enhancing each weapon type's individuality while strengthening their ability to face high-difficulty monsters planned in the future.  We will be implementing upward adjustments for 11 weapon types.

For sword & shield, charge blade, light bowgun, and heavy bowgun, we will be revisiting the downward adjustments made in Title Update 2.

In Wilds, we've been particularly focused on making the weapon easy to handle even for beginners, making adjustments to its moveset so that a certain level of damage can be dealt with any action. 
Among these, the damage output of some actions was found to be too high in relation to their ease of use when compared to other weapon types. Therefore, we made some downward adjustments in Title Update 2. 
Among those adjustments, we found that the downward adjustment to Guard Slash reduced the usage frequency of Counter Slash, so we're applying a slight power increase to Counter Slash to compensate.

In Title Update 2, we aimed to balance Amped Element Discharge so that it could offer another reliable source of damage beyond multi-hit attacks in Axe Mode. However, the adjustment resulted in less power than intended, and also failed to expand player options. 
To address this, we revisited these adjustments and made it so that increased damage via enhanced phials is reflected while in Power Axe Mode, making it easier to maintain high damage output while keeping Power Axe Mode active.

In the Ver. 1.011 update, we introduced downwards adjustments to elemental and pierce ammo to prevent them from being overpowered against future high-difficulty monsters, like the recently-introduced Arch-tempered Uth Duna, and to ensure that a variety of weapon types were viable. However, we're reviewing this change and will be slightly increasing the power of elemental ammo for light bowguns. 
We will also relax the downward adjustment to the amount of rapid fire and ignition gauge recovery when using pierce ammo. Finally, we'll increase the amount of gauge recovery for various ammo types and improve the handling and power of special ammo in order to expand viable ammo selections for more situations.

We will perform some upward adjustments for weapons like the great sword and insect glaive as well, which previously have not been the subject of balance changes.

For dual blades, we focused on improving usability, such as making Demon Boost Mode easier to maintain and making Focus Strikes easier to use. In particular, based on player feedback, we added a Focus Strike action (which can be chained into others) that provides another option for continuing attacks without changing your position.

タイトルアップデート第2弾における双剣の鬼人身躱し状態に関する調整内容について、パッチノートの記載が適切な表現になっていなかったことをお詫び申し上げます。 
スクリュースライサー等のアクションの上方調整に伴い、スキル「強化持続」の発動有無に関わらず、鬼人身躱し状態自体の持続時間の見直しを行なった形となります。

We have implemented upwards adjustments for each weapon type, focusing on expanding playstyle options. We encourage hunters to try each of the weapons out again after the update is live. 
Details on the adjustments made for each weapon type will be included in Guild Reports on our official social media accounts, so please check the reports for more information that we weren't able to share here.

We also plan to adjust some series skills that were previously difficult to use, with the overall goal of increasing equipment build options.

As previously announced, we had been planning balance adjustments for 5 weapon types. However, in the end we have expanded the scope and will be implementing adjustments (upward adjustments) for 11 total weapon types.

Great Sword, Long Sword, Sword & Shield, Dual Blades, Hunting Horn, Lance, Switch Axe, Charge Blade, Insect Glaive, Light Bowgun, Heavy Bowgun

We are currently aware of an issue across all platforms where the game may crash when a player gesture, such as the Water Gun gesture, hits another player at the same time that a specific type of communication error has occurred.

We plan to fix this issue in the Ver. 1.021 update.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and ask that you please wait a little longer for the fix.

We are strengthening our checking system to prevent game crashes caused by issues on the application side. In the event that a bug is found, we will investigate and fix it promptly.

In Title Update 2, we fixed bugs related to shader compilation and reduced the impact of anti-cheat measures on processing load by about 90%. In addition, as an option to reduce CPU load while improving frame rate, we implemented support for the latest super-resolution technologies, DLSS4 and FSR4.

In addition, in Title Update 2 we improved our texture loading process, reducing instances where low-quality textures are displayed when monsters suddenly enter the player's field of view. 
Title Update 3 will see similar improvements for NPCs and Seikret mounts.

In general, increasing the native frame rate will also increase CPU usage. If the frame rate limit is set to unlimited or a high value in the options, CPU performance will be maximized(*) in the attempt to increase the frame rate, which may result in a very high CPU usage. Please adjust your graphics options to limit the frame rate in accordance with your hardware's specifications.

We are aware that some players may be concerned about the potential strain on their PCs, particularly those using CPUs known to have stability issues (as reported by various manufacturers), due to prolonged high CPU usage during extended play sessions. 
On the other hand, as making changes to CPU processing could affect the game's overall performance, we plan to proceed with caution.

In regards to CPU load reduction, we plan to address this issue in the fourth title update scheduled for this winter. Once the initial implementation is complete, we will proceed with a second stage of further mitigation measures. 
We will also address GPU load reduction in a similar manner.

We'd also like to touch on our efforts to improve game stability, particularly for the Steam version, in response to numerous player comments.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who have provided us with valuable feedback and requests.

A Message from Director Tokuda (August 2025)

We plan to add new content and make various improvements and adjustments on an ongoing basis. Here's a look at what's currently on the way:


April 4th (Fri) - First Free Title Update (Ver. 1.010)
End of May - Update (Ver. 1.011)
Summer - Second Free Title Update (Ver. 1.020)


As we just announced, the first Free Title Update is scheduled to be released on Friday, April 4th. 
 
In addition to adding new content, such as the additional monster, Mizutsune, and the new multiplayer gathering location, the Grand Hub, we also plan to make various tweaks to the game. 
 
We will also continue to release further updates, with an update at the end of May, a second Free Title Update around summer, and more free title updates to come beyond that.

In addition to Tempered Arkveld (★8), future updates will see more Tempered Monsters (★8) added to the game.


In the first title update, Mizutsune will be unlocked at HR 21 or higher, and at HR 41 or higher, Tempered Mizutsune (★8) will also be available to hunt in the Environmental Overview. 
 
Additionally, starting with the release of Free Title Update 1, you will also be able to repeatedly hunt a High-Rank version of Zoh Shia, who you could previously only challenge once in the story up until now. 
 
And for even more of a challenge, Arch-tempered monsters will make an appearance. These are even stronger versions of tempered monsters. 
 
Arch-Tempered Rey Dau will be the first, featuring in a limited-time event quest from Wednesday, April 30th and Free Challenge Quest from Wednesday, May 7th. Make sure you're HR50 or above to take on this quest and earn its new rewards!

In addition, the update at the end of May will add the Tempered Monsters (★8) Gore Magala and the apex predators of each locale: Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad. 
 
Each of these monsters have had various behind-the-scenes adjustments to make them more resilient, such as increased health, resistance to wounding, and tweaks to multiplayer scaling. 
 
Challenging monsters will also appear in future updates, so keep an eye out for further information about them.

In response to some of the feedback after launch, we are planning to make various adjustments to the game, including weapon balance changes. These will be implemented gradually with each upcoming title update in order to make the game more enjoyable for everyone for a longer period of time. 
 
Depending on the content, these changes may take some time to prepare. 
 
For example, we are currently carefully considering upward adjustments for the Hammer, and then looking at other overall weapon balance adjustments with a goal to implement them either in the end of May update or the second title update in summer.

Some unintentionally overpowered things will be adjusted downward, but we will also be adjusting other parts upward, making for a generally balanced update. 
 
The Corrupted Mantle was overtuned at launch, causing it to build up more damage than expected, thus narrowing the range of options for choosing other Mantles. 
In the first title update, the effect of the Corrupted Mantle will be adjusted downwards, while the other Mantles will be adjusted upwards, balancing the line-up of Mantles to suit everyone's style of play.

We will continue to make quality of life improvements to the game in all areas, not just the ones listed below, for points that players are finding inconvenient. Like the other changes, these will be implemented gradually in the forthcoming updates. 
 
First of all, in the first title update, we have made various functions available in the Grand Hub, and have also made several adjustments, such as reducing the waiting time when accessing facility functions in each locales.

In addition, although some of these improvements are included in the above adjustments, we will make it easier to access the information you need through UI/UX improvements in future updates. The team also will continue to make additional adjustments and improvements to further enhance the overall feel of the game to curate an even smoother gameplay experience, including but not limited to the ease of restocking items, checking skill information, participating in multiplayer quests and using the Seikret; and camera behaviour during hunts.


The team is continuing to identify stability issues and make improvements where possible, especially on the Steam version. This will be an ongoing process, where we'll aim to make continual steps forward in this area and respond to critical issues.


Improvements coming very soon include a reduction in VRAM usage and an upgrade to the DirectStorage version of the Steam version in Free Title Update 1. These should result in an overall improvement in stability for our PC players.


Thank you for your patience as we continue to address reported issues and improve the overall technical experience for players on all platforms. Look forward to continued improvements in Free Title Update 1 and future updates and patches to come.


In addition, we also plan to take a wider look at overall gameplay flow, which encompasses a range of things, such as the in-game economy, balance and other areas. 
 
We are also planning on addressing elements that require more time for preparation, starting with overall game balance including downward adjustments. We will update when we have further information regarding elements that are planned to be addressed in future updates.

Some of the additional features that we've seen requested from the community are scheduled to be implemented in future updates. 
As we just announced in the Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, we plan to implement a list where you can see a preview of each endemic life you've captured in the update coming at the end of May.

In addition, layered weapons will be coming in a future update. As more information on layered weapons becomes available, we'll be sure to share it with you!


We will continue to add new elements and content to make Monster Hunter Wilds even more enjoyable for all hunters through our free content updates, while at the same time making further improvements and adjustments to the game. 
 
We will do our best to ensure that you will enjoy the collaboration with another Capcom title in the update at the end of May, as well as the additional features in future updates, so we hope you enjoy it.

This attack can be selected from the Item Bar consecutively to pull off a combo.
When performing a combo, you can press <img class="controller_btn" src="../../../assets/img/topics/director-letter-2505/key-Btn8.png" alt="△ボタン" width="450" height="450" /> or <img class="controller_btn" src="../../../assets/img/topics/director-letter-2505/key-Btn6.png" alt="◯ボタン" width="450" height="450" /> to activate different moves!

Your Drive Gauge fills over time, and once it's full, a Drive Impact can be performed.
 
Drive Impacts can be activated by selecting the move in the Item Bar, or by holding <img class="controller_btn" src="../../../assets/img/topics/director-letter-2505/key-BtnL2.png" alt="[L2]" width="450" height="450" /> then pressing <img class="controller_btn" src="../../../assets/img/topics/director-letter-2505/key-BtnR1.png" alt="[R1]" width="450" height="450" /> during a combo. When Akuma's full armor set is equipped, this move will gain an offset effect, and hitting a monster's wound or weak point will activate the Shun Goku Satsu attack that will gain stun properties.
 
 
Used skilfully, these actions can be used to slay even the more difficult monsters in the game!
 
You can also add each action to your shortcut menu to make them easier to pull off in the heat of the hunt.

There is plenty more to discover within this special collaboration, and we hope fans of both series enjoy everything this content has to offer.

This special collaboration features equipment that will prepare you for any fight from the wilds to the streets, as well as a new challenger to the game: Akuma!


Included in the collaboration equipment are the Akuma full armor set and Akuma layered armor. When you have either equipped, three items will be added to the Item Bar - Assisted Combo: Akuma, Drive Impact, and Gou Hadoken.


Now I'd like to go into a little more detail about Assisted Combo: Akuma and Drive Impact.


In Title Update 2, set to release this summer, new monsters will be introduced into the wilds. 
Similar to Title Update 1, new tempered monsters (8★) as well a new Arch-tempered monster will make an appearance, so players should prepare for hunts that are more challenging than ever before.

Furthermore, even stronger monsters are also planned to be added in later updates.


In Ver. 1.011, tempered (8★) Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad will become available to hunt at HR 41 and higher. This will give players options for hunting 8★ tempered monsters other than Arkveld.


Each of these monsters have had various behind-the-scenes adjustments to make them more resilient, such as increased health, resistance to wounding, and tweaks to multiplayer scaling. 
Tempered Gore Magala (8★) is expected to provide a particularly tough challenge to even the best of hunters. Face this formidable beast at your own risk! 
 
Ver. 1.011 also features numerous improvements to quests. Higher-difficulty quests will now appear more frequently as your HR increases. Also, both the spawn rate of quests with multiple monsters and the appearance rate of tempered monsters with higher strength ratings have been increased.

As mentioned in the previous director's letter, we will be implementing various player-centric balance adjustments in Ver. 1.011 and Title Update 2.


First, in Ver. 1.011, the Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun all had various adjustments made.


Also, certain aspects for Gunlance Artian weapons have been increased.
 
 
While some weapons have had certain parameters adjusted downward, other parameters have been adjusted upwards, and viewed in totality I think you will find that all weapon types have had their possibilities expanded, so I encourage you to give them a try for yourself once the update is out.

Also, the Hammer is planned to receive various improvements in Title Update 2 in addition to the adjustments made in this update, including the addition of offset effects for certain attacks and the addition of a follow-up attack upon a successful offset.


Other weapons will also receive changes in Title Update 2 such as the Dual Blades.


In addition to the changes discussed in previous sections, players can look forward to various other improvements in Title Update 2 such as improved Seikret usability, the ability to view skill details in various screens with a single button press, and more.


We plan to continually improve ease of access to important features and information, as well as the feel of the game with each update.


The following are notable improvements that will be implemented in Ver. 1.011.


Notifications have also been adjusted in Ver. 1.011. Notification frequency in locales has been lowered, and only high-priority targets will be displayed in the Environment Overview. In addition, we plan to make it so that active notifications will no longer block the input for opening the map in Title Update 2.


Improvements are also coming to joining multiplayer quests for private lobbies and squad lobbies. Camera behavior during hunts has also been adjusted. These changes are included in Ver. 1.011 and will continue to be refined in later updates.


As mentioned in the previous director's letter, you will be able to view individual endemic life you captured.
 
In the Windward Plains, select Check Endemic Life in Ecological Research to view your creatures and their names, as well as the size and weight of fish you caught. You can also favorite creatures so that they'll be kept even if you go over the maximum storage capacity!
 
Individual creatures can have different patterns or other unique elements, so if you find one you particularly like, be sure to use this feature to keep it around!

In Ver. 1.011, the positions and movement for your Seikret and handler have been adjusted so they do not interfere with gameplay. In addition, a character display toggle is planned to be added to Photo Mode for Title Update 2, as well as an option to toggle off the glowing effect on your hunter from skills and items.


Layered weapons are also planned to be implemented in Title Update 2.


We look forward to players getting their hands on this exciting feature!


The team continues to identify stability issues and make improvements where possible, especially on the Steam version. This is an ongoing process, and we aim to make continual progress in this area.


Ver. 1.011 also includes optimizations to VRAM usage and fixes to crashes due to insufficient VRAM. More improvements for the Steam version such as enhanced texture streaming are planned for future updates.
 
We will continue to implement performance improvements to provide players the best game experience possible.

With the addition of tempered monsters (8★) in Ver. 1.011, the rewards for 8★ investigations and field surveys have been increased. Guild Point rewards for fishing have also been rebalanced. Certain whoppers and rare fish have had their rewards increased, while others have had their rewards decreased.
 
As I mentioned in the Monsters section, even stronger monsters are planned to be added in future updates.
 
To complement this, a new system will be added where rewards and equipments that allow you to diversify your skill bulds can be earned. Stay tuned to official channels for more news.

Hunters can look forward to steady support of Monster Hunter Wilds with new content and balance changes that make the game even more fun to play.
 
The Street Fighter 6 special collaboration releasing May 28 with Ver. 1.011 will bring intense brawls with beasts of nature, and we hope to keep introducing content that excites players.

Additionally, any monster currently in the area can be targeted at any time in order to start a new quest. 

 Note: Some monsters can't be targeted due to progression or other certain situations.

 
Supporting you in your expeditions will be your trusty Handler and Palico, as well as your Seikret mount and plenty of new tools.

Want to get the stamina and other stat boosts from eating but don't want to go back to camp? Don't worry! With the Portable BBQ Grill, you can cook up a meal at any time. 
 
Selecting BBQ from the Portable BBQ Grill will allow you to make Well-done Steak. 
Eating Well-done Steak will not only raise your maximum stamina but also restore both your health and stamina.

A set number of Pop-up Camps can be set up in each area. 
 
Pop-up camps let you manage your items and equipment, serve as a fast travel destination and a place to start new quests, and can be used as a return point after fainting.

Use different types of lures to reel in various species of fish. 
You can even try your hand at some big-game fishing.

Focus Mode


Focus Strike


Focus Mode allows you to carefully aim your attacks or guards. 
Use Focus Mode to attack or guard in the direction the camera is facing, and also highlight any wounds or weak points on the monster.

Special attacks available during Focus Mode—Focus Strikes will deal massive damage when connecting with a wound or weak point. 
Hitting a wound with a Focus Strike will destroy the wound, dealing massive damage and stunning the monster.

ULTIMATE HUNTING ACTION


Focus Mode allows you to aim your attacks and guard abilities. You can also use Focus Mode to pinpoint monster weaknesses, which can be targeted with special new attacks that will deal big damage! 
By making it easier to space yourself and aim your attacks during hunts, Focus Mode will make it even easier for players of all stripes to get in on the hunting action.

The slinger returns as an indispensable hunter tool. Use it to fire rocks, seeds, and other natural ammo, or even use it to trigger objects in the environment.

The hook slinger is the newest evolution of the slinger, allowing you to gather all types of materials from a distance. 
It can be used while mounted on a Seikret, and can even be used to interact with certain environmental objects or trigger traps.

Attacking the same part of a monster repeatedly will cause a wound to open. 
Attacks that hit wounds will deal a large amount of damage. Hit the wound enough, and it will destroy the wound, dealing even more damage. 
While in Focus Mode, monster wounds and weak points will be highlighted, and you will be able to use powerful Focus Strikes.

After a quest begins, you can send an SOS Flare to call up to three other hunters from all over the world to assist you in your hunt. 
 
In addition to online multiplayer, you can also call NPC Support Hunters to enjoy the fun of a hunting party even when playing singleplayer.

Support Hunters will automatically join your hunting party if a certain amount of time passes after using an SOS Flare and enough players cannot be found. 
 
During multiplayer, you can set the maximum number of players to call and turn off Support Hunters at the Quest Counter using settings like Only Other Players and Only Support Hunters.

Seikret—indispensable hunting companions.


Your Seikret isn't just for travel—you can also stash an extra weapon in its weapon sling, allowing you to switch between two weapons of your choice. 
 
If you find yourself in a pinch during a hunt, you can call your Seikret to create some distance, allowing you to use items or sharpen your weapon. 
While mounted, your Seikret will also evade some monster attacks automatically.
